Aramark's dynamic and diverse Facility Services division has an immediate need for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler at a key national client's high-volume facility in Hamtramck, MI


The Planner/Scheduler will be required to work closely with the customer, engineers, maintenance management, maintenance technicians and various suppliers on a daily basis in order to develop detailed job plans for corrective, project, preventive maintenance activities; create a rolling multi-week maintenance schedule; maintain backlog records by trade; maintain future work load forecast based on client input; conduct weekly maintenance scheduling meetings; participate in maintenance/production meetings; manage planned system/facility outages and communicate planned outage/weekly schedules. The Planner/Scheduler will identify and request parts; manage maintenance documentation; manage quoting activities and update information in the CMMS program.


Education: Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of a technical associate's degree. A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience is preferred. Training in planning/scheduling, reliability based maintenance, and purchasing and budgeting is also desirable.

Certificates: License in a skilled trade (i.e. electrical, plumbing or HVAC) is preferred. Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM), or other similar accreditations are also desirable.

Knowledge: In depth knowledge of planning and scheduling. Good understanding of reliability based maintenance and project management. Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements. Working knowledge of planner/scheduler relationship with respect to scheduling in a multi-craft operation; planning and executing work; coordinating purchasing, manufacturing maintenance and .facilities maintenance activities; the proper documentation requirements for historic work analysis. Familiar with the challenges of customer/client relationships.

Skills: Multi-craft knowledge is required. Craft skills are preferred. 5- 7 years of craft experience in commercial or industrial construction, repair or maintenance duties is desirable. The following skills are required: Strong interpersonal, leadership, verbal/written communication, planning/scheduling, problem solving, project management, report writing, presentation development and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate and follow-up. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs and CMMS programs are required as well.

Abilities: Ability to envision and communicate jobs as both mechanical aspects and abstract (time, tools, and space requirements) aspects. Ability to communicate at multiple levels both verbally and in writing. To work in a team environment. To work cohesively with different types of people at all levels in the organization. To ensure confidentiality is adhered to in discussions with outside firms. To work in a customer/client based environment. To convey information in an understandable manner with maintenance staff, engineers, suppliers and the client.

Tools: Computer (spreadsheet, database, word processing and etc.), Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), teleconferencing and CMMS programs.
