Primary Purpose:

Under remote supervision, lead the installations, modifications and repairs of plumbing, piping, heating and cooling, process, and gas systems in compliance with appropriate codes and to the satisfaction of general contractors/clients. 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Advanced knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques

Knowledge of plumbing codes

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material Ability to perform mathematical calculations

Ability to diagnose and resolve problems

Experience:

3 years' experience in commercial plumbing

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
  2. Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
  3. Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.
  4. Install and/or repair dishwashers and kitchen equipment that incorporate gas or water consumption.
  5. Select and procure material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
  6. Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
  7. Maintain inventory of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
  8. Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  9. Respond to emergency calls as needed.

Safety

  1. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
  2. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  3. Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
  4. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, use of personal protective equipment, etc.
  5. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.

Other Duties as Assigned

  1. Requires flexibility and understanding that all plumbing staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goals of the Company.
